While many groups work towards preventing child abuse, other groups such as the Association for Women’s Rights in Development work towards keeping the families together instead. The Association for Women’s Rights in Development is a global, feminist, membership, movement-support organization that works to achieve gender justice and women’s human rights worldwide. The Association for Women’s Rights in Development preaches the concept of the family; rather than individual members solving issues, the family as a unit will have control. This organization focuses their efforts on women but moreover on the family as everyone deserves equality and respect.

With these efforts, the Association for Women’s Rights in Development pushes for the government to let families handle their own issues. In regard to child abuse, this organization does believe it is wrong, however, they believe it the family should fix the problems from within, without outside interruption. They argue that individuals lose their human rights as powerful institutions gained ultimate power overtime. Big companies, and people in powerful positions are creating laws and new parental rights that conflict with basic human rights. These authoritative rules interfere with individuals’ rights and personal lives when they should not be involved. The Association for Women’s Rights in Development fights, not against the action of child abuse, but against the interference in family life.
