I feel that this decade was a very transformative decade on many different levels for the United States. For one when I think of this decade one aspect I think of is how much new household technology came into use, with examples being the radio, the electric dishwasher, etc. Another transformative thing I think of when I think of this decade is the rise of celebrity culture, with examples that come to mind being Babe Ruth, Jack Dempsey, Lou Gehrig. The stock Market soaring and overall economy soaring during this decade is another example in my mind of the transformation that occurred during the 20s, as it helped people live better than they ever had before this decade. Adding to this the amount of people that had cars went up significantly which then of course led to many roads being built across the country. Female culture also underwent big change during these years in that women gained the right to officially vote and they begun living a more edger lifestyle with an examples being that young women during this decade now wore lavish makeup, smoked more, in some cases were flappers, etc. Though most of this change could be seen as progressive not all major revelations that happened the 20s were this way in that the KKK otherwise known as the Ku Klux Klan rose to their second wave, which was evident by the Klan march in Washington DC.

The images that I found somewhat expanded upon and confirmed what I typed above. For one my take that young women were living an edger lifestyle was confirmed by an image of a women wearing lavish makeup and by women wearing outfits that do not cover their legs. Another concept that I was talking about in relation to this decade that was confirmed was that the amount of people that had cars became more mainstream during this decade which was evident by an image that I found in which a parking lot was filed up with cars. What was also established was the idea that roads were becoming more common place as well in that my image features a road in the background. Some images expanded upon this concept that cars were becoming mainstream during this decade via images of car wrecks which were occurring at a notable level. The reason in which I said that the images only somewhat expanded upon and confirmed what my take on this decade was is because I did not see images of things such as sports stars, the KKK, new household tech, and the robust economy. This to me was surprising in that from what I have studied about the 20s all of the following concepts were talked about in great length, with the economy being the focal point of these studies. What I found that expanded upon the concept of this decade being a time of transformation was images of thrill that depicted the growth of thrill culture during this decade, with examples being people climbing up buildings as well as people standing on the wings of moving air planes.

Beach and Atlantic House Hotel Nantasket Beach.
