Moreover, life was much different back in those times because people did not have cell phones, social media was not a thing yet, and there were no dating apps. Additionally, from movies that I have seen before, people looked happier back then and life looked purer. Back then you would see family eating together for breakfast or dinner and them spending time together. In this generation, families do not spend that much time together because everyone is always tired from work or is caught up doing some type of work. In addition, in the 1920s people used to dress completely differently than how people dress themselves today, people used to talk differently back then, and people used to eat different food back then. Additionally, the year 1920 was famous because it was the golden age of jazz making it a major form of music in the United States during these years. Furthermore, at the beginning of 1920 people who just came back from World War 1 were getting adjusted to how it feels to be back home. Post-Word War 1 time of the 1920s was a time of great opportunities in the United States because the economy was good, and new rights were going under contract like American women’s being able to vote.

Racism in the United States during the 1920s was terrible towards African Americans due to this they were being killed in mass numbers. In the 1920s times were rough for any ethnicity or race other than white because the white supremacist leaders would perform public lynching and public massacres towards any black person or Mexicans who did anything out of line such as whistling to a white lady or using the same bathroom as a white man or even if they spoke back to a white man. Over 400 African Americans were lynched in 1920 alone. In addition, Racial segregation was enforced through restrictive covenants and deed restrictions. The U.S. government conducted unconstitutional raids and deportations against Mexican immigrants. Moreover, African Americans faced barriers to voting, including practices meant to prevent them from registering to vote.

During the 1920s it was also the great era of Mobsters. A mobster is a bad guy who’s involved in organized crime. There are many great movies about mobsters that take place in the 1920s. The movie would be about a group of immigrants group from all over Europe trying to make a living by trafficking drugs, guns, alcohol, and killing people. Mobsters can be also explained as a group of people that are like a family but they have their leader who they follow. The Great Depression began in August 1929, when the Roaring Twenties ended. During the Great Depression Americans suffered a lot because there was a lot of loss of employment, jobs, houses, and even food. That time was rough for the American people due to a lot of starvation, people living in the streets, and because the American dollar was at its lowest point ever. Additionally, the Great Depression ended when War World 2 started due to a lot of jobs opening in the war industry. Furthermore, Life has changed drastically 100 years later into the future now in 2025 things are so different yet the same with all these modern-day problems.

When I was a little kid, I always thought that back then in the 1900’s life was black and white because when I was growing up in the early 2000’s…

[1
63,56,64
post-3700","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized","tag-1920s","tag-essays","tag-jazz
["GET
